Lakeland's Nonprofit and Public Service Center will host “Your Board and Fundraising: Team Up with Your Trustees” on Tuesday, October 9 from 8:30 -10:30 a.m. on the college's main campus, 7700 Clocktower Drive, Kirtland 44094, in the A Building, room 2100.

The $45 fee includes materials and continental breakfast (beginning at 8:00 a.m.).

The session will focus on ways that professional and volunteer leaders can work together as a team to ensure the success of the fundraising process. It will feature a presentation by David Holmes, regional training coordinator of the Foundation Center - Cleveland, and a panel discussion moderated by Michael Parry, chief development officer, The City Mission of Cleveland. Panelists will include: Cheryl Davis, chair, board of directors, The Gathering Place; Eileen Saffran, executive director and founder, The Gathering Place; Steve Baum, president, board of directors, The Fine Arts Association; and Linda Wise, chief executive officer, The Fine Arts Association.

Participants will learn:

· How to help board members overcome their reluctance to fundraise
· Ways the board can participate in the fundraising process
· Tips for strengthening a fundraising board
· How to create passion and enthusiasm for the mission of the organization
· How to tell compelling and powerful stories

For maximum impact, participants are encouraged to register as board/staff teams.
