The Sigma Kappa Delta (SKD) National English Honor Society at Lakeland Community College has inducted fifteen students for the fall 2009 semester. Post secondary students from area high schools were also included. SKD is the English honor society for two-year colleges.
“Sigma Kappa Delta allows Lakeland Community College students to connect with others who share similar interests in literature and writing,” Said April Mason, English instructor at Lakeland and SKD advisor. “The charter members of the organization will begin this fall by exploring opportunities to edit a literary journal, to participate in community service projects, and to recruit new members."
