The Lakeland Men’s Resource Center is hosting a series of workshops to help individuals in the job search process. Lakeland’s Job Shop Speaker Program assists unemployed professionals or any active job seeker in finding employment. Meetings take place every second and fourth Monday of each month from 9 – 11 a.m. in room A – 1044g. It is located on Lakeland’s campus and features some of the top employment experts from Northeast Ohio. Each program is free and open to the general public and drop-ins are welcome.

Monday, September 14
“Thriving On the Firing Line: Answering Difficult Interview Questions” Presented by Sherri Moss, a career coach from Chicago who just re-located to Cleveland. Moss will share tips on how to answer some of the most dreaded questions in a job interview.
Monday, September 28
“The Effective Job Seeker: An HR Perspective” Presented by Steve Vitale, an outplacement consultant and former resource director at Caterpillar. Vitale will shed insider tips on what the HR office looks for while screening job applicants and how to make sure to catch their eye.
Monday, October 12
“Riding the Emotional Roller Coaster of Unemployment” Presented by Jim Shelley, manager of the Men’s Center at Lakeland Community College. Shelley will give supportive tips on the ups and downs that many people experience when unemployed.
Monday, October 26
“How to Land Your Ideal Job/Employer” Presented by Phil Stella, president, Effective Training and Communication. Stella will detail what actions to take to get into a preferred company and/or position.
