Lakeland Community College will be hosting an informational session on automation maintenance courses offered at Lakeland slated for Wednesday, July 8 from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Participants will receive a free continental breakfast; registration is required by July 1.
The 20-hour automation maintenance classes are designed for maintenance individuals of various skill levels and to provide training for the newest equipment in their facilities.
Courses being highlighted in the overview include:
PLC Boot camp – Programmable Logic Controllers Training (2.0 CEUs) The training in this program is geared towards maintenance specialists with little or no experience with PLCs. Topics discussed and worked on will be wiring, troubleshooting techniques and software instructions.
Hydraulic Boot camp – Hydraulic Training (2.0 CEUs) The training is concentrated for current maintenance individuals who need to be effective troubleshooting hydraulics. The activities will be identifying components from schematics, component function, and troubleshooting from schematics.
VFD Boot camp – Variable Frequency Drives Training (2.0 CEUs) This session is geared for maintenance specialists with little or no experience with VFDs. Topics discussed will be wiring, monitoring of I/O, troubleshooting techniques, parameters, and interfacing of PLCs.
Control Logix Boot camp - (2.0 CEUs) Training introduces the learner to advanced PLCs and communication techniques including tags; DH485/data highway/ethernet; and distributed I/O.
