The Lakeland Community College Fine Arts Gallery announced the winners of the Lake County Creative Artists Association Exhibit. The exhibit runs through July 6 on the college’s main campus, 7700 Clocktower Drive, Building D, first floor. The gallery is free and open to the public. The Lake County Creative Artists Association exhibit showcases over 100 pieces of work from 43 local artists. The diverse collection will include oil and acrylic painting, water color, pastel, pen and ink, mixed media, sculpture, and 3 – D media. The 2009 award winners include: Best of Show Sharon Wood: Acrylic: Vineyard Valley Oil & Acrylic Painting First Place: Mardel Sanzotta “Woman’s Work” Second Place: Mardel Sanzotta “Golden’s Rule” Third Place: Patty Boonstra “Rudbeckia and Friends” Honorable Mention: Patty Boonstra “Summer at the Lake” Watercolor: Still Life/ Floral First Place: Annikia Farmer “Puzzled Protea” Second Place: Connie Adams “Nature’s High # 2” Honorable Mention: Char D’Errico “It’s A New Day” Watercolor: Landscape/Seascape First Place: Alice W. Ronke “French Mediterranean, Peninsula Farm, and Two Pitchers Second Place: Stuart Abbey “Square in Bordeaux # 2” Third Place: Edward Stroinski “Red Tail Hawk” Honorable Mention: Betty McRainey “Stonington, Connecticut” Drawing First Place: Mary Ann Miller “Trois Bateaux” Second Place: Anita Russell “Juicy Reflections” Third Place: Jeannette K. Jones “A Drop in Time” Mixed Media First Place: Sharon Wood “Autumn Vineyard” Honorable Mention: Betty Kovacs “Floral Collage” Photography First Place: Zoe Enyedy “Iceberg in Lago Grey” Honorable Mention: Marcella Singer “Ryan at the Pump” The Lake County Creative Artists Association first began in 1952 with only a few members. The association is a nonprofit organization and is comprised of artists primarily from Ashtabula, Geauga, and Lake Counties.
