In an effort to make going back to college easier for adults and at a time when many are finding themselves at a career crossroads, Lakeland Community College is hosting an open house aimed at adult students on Saturday, April 25 from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center, Building D on the main campus. The college’s $15 application fee will be waived for open house participants.
“We’d like to take the guess work out of going back to school,” said Robyn Fry, manager of student recruitment. “Whether they want to earn a degree, a certificate, or just take a few classes, we’ll show them how to get started.”
The open house will feature adults sharing their success stories of going back to school, as well as local employers speaking to the value of earning a college degree.
Several presentations are scheduled including:
- Matching Your Strengths to a New Career
- Managing School, Work & Life
- Paying for College
Deans and faculty representing all five academic divisions at Lakeland will be on hand to answer questions about degree programs. A student resource fair will provide visitors with information on: the Adult Accelerated Degree Program; the Cleveland State Partnership Program; financial aid; Men’s Gateway To College Project; Women’s Center single mother’s program; and much more.
