The Lakeland Community College Job Shop Speaker Series program assists unemployed professionals or any active job seeker in finding employment. Meetings are held the second and fourth Monday of every month from 9-11 a.m. in room A-1044g on Lakeland’s campus, and feature some of the best employment experts in Northeast Ohio. All programs are free and open to the public, and drop-ins are welcome.

“In the Meantime, Making the Most Out of Your Job Search” Presented by Wendy Schwarz, international marketing consultant. Schwarz will share creative ways to make job searches more effective. She will also discuss how to turn the adversity of unemployment into opportunities. In Room T-129.

“The Northeastern Ohio Job Market: Finding a Way In” Presented by Pat Perry, executive director of the Employers Resource Council of Greater Cleveland. Perry will talk about the employment scene in the Cleveland area and how best to approach employers. In Room T-129.

“The Current Economy and How it May (or May Not) Influence Your Job Search” Presented by Joe Tirpak, president of J.E.T. Management Services. A former HR executive at Lubrizol and Hoover and a founder of the outplacement firm Patrick Douglas, Tirpak will provide tips and answer questions on how to make the best of a job search in a tough economy.

“The Stress and De-Motivation of Unemployment” Presented by Dr. Ken Browner, psychologist at Lakeland Community College. Dr. Browner will look at the emotional side of unemloyment and how to cope with stress and discouragement.
