Lean times require companies to look for ways to trim the fat. Brian Furlong’s popular business book, “The Elusive Lean Enterprise” sets the stage for how to do just that, in a free introductory meeting on March 5 from 7:30 – 9:30 a.m. at Lakeland Community College. This informational overview includes a continental breakfast. Attendees must pre-register by calling 440-525-7813, by Monday March 2.
Participants may then register for the intensive main course: a six-day business program on May 4-6, and continues on June 8-10 (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. all six days) at Lakeland Community College. Furlong, a seasoned, senior executive with 30 years experience in manufacturing and finance, will speak in-depth about what companies need to do to help stay afloat in tough economic times such as:
• How to eliminate wasteful practices from company top to bottom, and how to
overcome associated barriers
• What companies should know to reduce manufacturing costs
• Why organizations fail to effect real change
• How to distinguish between value-added and non-value added processes
• What methods reduce overhead costs associated with plant maintenance and equipment
