About the Andy Nowacki Endowment Fund

The family of Andy Nowacki has established the Andy Nowacki Memorial Scholarship Fund Endowment through The Lakeland Foundation in tribute to Andy, a U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. and Grand River Police Officer who heroically gave his life for his country while protecting a convoy south of Baghdad, Iraq. His legacy of serving others with bravery and compassion will always be remembered through full scholarships to students. The Andy Nowacki Scholarship will be awarded to students who serve the public and who exemplify his compassion for people, his passion for serving in law enforcement, and who, like him, demonstrate a positive attitude towards achieving worthwhile career and life goals. His reputation for fairness and compassion grows as the family works with The Lakeland Foundation to create a major endowment fund for public service scholarships at Lakeland Community College. The scholarship was initiated in memory of Andy Nowacki, to be held in perpetuity, by The Lakeland Foundation at Lakeland Community College, located in Lake County- where he lived and worked.
