Patricia Hoyt, dean of Workforce Development and Continuing Education at Lakeland Community College has been selected as one of 10 North American experts to be featured at the Learning Resource Network’s (LERN) Best Practices Conference to be held in Tucson, Arizona April 26-29.
The conference addresses best practices in the field of lifelong learning by featuring expert practitioners from programs that are among the most successful in North America. Hoyt and her nine counterparts will speak to conference participants on how they have led their programs to success.
Panel discussions each involving several of the 10 experts will be the primary format for the conference. There are 10 different panels, representing the key issues and challenges lifelong learning professionals face in operating their programs.
Hoyt was selected because of her leadership in developing model programs at Lakeland, particularly in workforce development and in providing relevant training to corporations and other organizations. In addition, Hoyt has deployed a number of industry best practices in driving the six centers under her charge to incredible growth levels in the last three years.
