Program for administrators at the elementary and high school levels features national school safety expert
The Lakeland Community College Nonprofit and Public Service Center hosts "Proactive School Security and Emergency Preparedness and Extreme Crisis Communications" on Thursday, October 30 from 8 a .m. – 12:30 p.m. on the main campus in room H-101. The event is free but reservations are required. Register online at eventbrite.com.
The timely and important seminar is designed for school administrators, school board members, central office and building administrators, and school public safety partners (police, fire, EMS, and EMA), to learn about the actions to take in the event of an extreme crisis on their campus.
Presenters are:
• Kenneth S. Trump, National School Safety and Security Services Trump will give a two-hour presentation on school crime and violence and the latest trends in emergency preparedness. Emphasis will be placed on practical, cost-effective best practices for improving school security and preparation for un-preventable crisis situations.
• Bruce M. Hennes, Hennes Communications Hennes will focus two hours on communications issues related to school security and will provide school and community leaders with the necessary tools to speak to students, parents, the pubic, the media, and other stakeholders during an intense public-safety emergency (e.g. mass casualty, pandemic flu, terrorism and other extreme situations involving threats to life and limb).
