Lakeland's Alumni Association announces the inductees to the 2007 Alumni Hall of Fame. The award is given to outstanding graduates of the college for making a difference in society because of their experiences at Lakeland.

John Hambrecht, Lakeland Class of 1990,
Associate degree of applied business
Hambrecht is a training manager for Lincoln Electric and continually develops partnerships with Lakeland for educational opportunities through Lakeland’s Tech Prep Consortium and Center for Business and industry.

Chief Richard Harvey, Lakeland Class of 1981,
Associate degree of science in nursing
Harvey is the fire chief for the city of Mentor. He played a key role in instituting the Heart Safe Community program that placed Automated External Defibrillators in city halls, police departments and other public areas.

Susan Tullai-McGuinness, Lakeland Class of 1979,
Associate degree of science in nursing
Tullai-McGuinness is currently an assistant professor at the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University. Her extensive background in healthcare has resulted in being awarded research grants.


The induction ceremony will take place on Thursday, August 9 from 6-8 p.m. at Mooreland Mansion on the college campus. The event is $12 per person with a cash bar, and the public is invited.


Lakeland’s Alumni Hall of Fame’s first inductees in 2006 included:
Morris Beverage Jr. ’74, president, Lakeland Community College; Dana Dennis ’73, vice president and corporate controller, Parker Hannifin Corporation; Dale Fellows ’77, president and co-owner of Morgan Litho and Eagle Advertising; Richard Hennig ’75, law director for the City of Mentor; Donna McNamee ’80 and ’84, community activist and writer/editor; Kip Molenaar ’75, director of administration and finance for the City of Mentor-on-the-Lake; and Diane Tusek ’81, founder and president, Guided Imagery, Inc.
