Mansions of Lake County

Photobucket

For nearly 100 years, some of the wealthiest people in Northeast Ohio built and occupied huge homes in
Lake County. There were mansions of summer-time luxury and others were used year-round. Many of those
mansions have been demolished, but a few are still here, easy to locate if you know where to look.

"The Mansions of Lake County" is a multi-media presentation full of fascinating side-stories and plenty
of time for questions. The mansion families left a wonderful legacy to Northeast Ohio and especially
to Lake County. Evidence of their lasting gifts can been seen in place names, the cultural, charitable
and religious organizations, andthe various institutions the families created. The presentation also
briefly addresses present day legacies. Even though we may not be wealthy mansion dwellers, we too are
able to leave lasting gifts in an effort to improve the quality of life for future generations.

This presentation is sponsored by The Lakeland Foundation, Cleveland Foundation, Lake County Historical
Society and the Lake County Council on Aging.
