Single Mothers Achieving Real Triumph (SMART)
The SMART program is a support and networking program for single mothers who will be starting at Lakeland in the fall of 2006. Participants must have demonstrated financial need, and will attend school at least half time. Program activities take place on weekday mornings.
As a group, SMART students will:
- Take an English class and Skills for College Success.
- Attend training workshops and seminars on topics related to overcoming barriers which could keep you from succeeding in college.
- Meet weekly for support and networking with peers.
- Receive financial assistance from the Women’s Center.
