Exhibit on the Evolution of Chinese Calligraphy

Description: The Lakeland Library will host "The Genesis of Chinese Writing and the Art of Calligraphy," an exhibit on the history and evolution of Chinese calligraphy, throughout the month of April. Created by Dr. SuiWah Chang, Professor Emeritus of Human Medicine, Michigan State University and Associate of the Center for Chinese Studies at the University of Michigan, and sponsored by the Midwest Institute for International/ Intercultural Education, the exhibit is part of Lakeland's series "A Chinese Spring: The Culture, History, and Art of China."

"A Chinese Spring" was made possible by the Lakeland Foundation, the Center for International Education, and the Lakeland Library.

The event is free and open to the public.


"Popular or Participatory: Masses, Refugees, and War Drama in 1940s China"
